From L1, the spinal cord assumes the form of Cauda Equina. Notably, only spinal nerves continue from this stage. There is no spinal cord beyond the first or the second lumbar vertebrae.

CAUDA EQUINA

This Latin term means the tail of a horse. Cauda equina resembling the hairy tail-end of a horse is actually an extension of the spinal cord. It is made up of nerve rootlets. This structure is located at the spinal column?s lower end (vertebra L3).The spinal cord remains only till the Cauda equina. These hairy roots extend the communication network to the spine end. Cauda equina stay suspended within spinal fluid.

INSULATION OF SPINAL CORD & THE VERTEBRAL COLUMN

This spinal cord stays insulated within the vertebral column. The vertebral column moves via the spinal canal. The vertebral column is made up of vertebrae. The vertebrae are divided into five clusters (from bottom to top): the coccyx, sacrum, lumbar vertebrae, thoracic and the cervical. Within each vertebrate the spinal cord is shielded by a bony casing comprising the vertebral column.
Mentionably, the spinal cord passes down to the sacral vertebrae within a human fetus. But as a person grows, his spinal cord develops slower than the body.

Once you have been able to establish yourself as a reliable and trustworthy person, then you might be fortunate enough to be offered employment, or at least referred on to a contact who might be interested in employing you.

You enjoy the Networking Process

At first we are probably all a bit reluctant to make enough effort to network. After a while, however, you will probably find yourself keen to take advantage of any opportunity. This is particularly the case if you network well, and feel that you are helping other people as well as gaining benefits for yourself. It will be satisfying to meet new people, learn about them and their business, and see how you can be of value to each other.

So these are some of the main reasons why Networking can be considered to be valuable.

The winner of the 1973 race received $50,000 and today that amount has increased to around $500,000.

The mushers spend anywhere from a few thousand dollars to tens of thousands of dollars on the race. Not only do they have the entry fee to pay, but also the cost of their sled, their clothes and equipment; plus the cost of keeping their dogs all year, which estimated total cost of everything runs around $60,000. They do have corporate sponsors who sponsor them, which helps to defray their cost.

The Alaska Iditarod is to Alaska about the same as the Indy 500, the Super Bowl or the Olympics. It is the longest distance dog sled race in the world. It was originated as a tribute to an actual event which occurred during the winter of 1925. During that winter of 1925, a deadly outbreak of diphtheria had struck, threatening all the children of Nome. They needed the serum to fight this disease, but the serum was in the city of Anchorage, over 1,000 miles away to the southeast.

There was one airplane that could have been flown to Anchorage to pick up the medicine, but it had been dismantled and stored for the winter.

Why ARE women so unhappy in their own skin? That’s the question that’s been troubling this magazine editor. And she dreamt up a very unlikely way to answer it

0 Comments | Daily Mail (London, England), The, August 30, 2010

Byline: Sharon Parsons

EARLY on a Wednesday morning I’m standing stark naked in a bathroom, with just a fine muslin blind between my modesty and the outside world.

Not such an unusual scenario, you may think — except that I’m also sharing the room with a photographer, her assistant, an art director and a make-up artist who is dabbing my decollete with a powder puff.

Elsewhere in this South london house, women in various states of undress are chatting over coffee, perched on stools with a full set of rollers, or flicking through magazines.

In the back garden, meanwhile, a colleague I’ve seen only fully clothed until now is peeping through the foliage, completely starkers, as she gets ready for her close-up. What, I wonder, would the postman who’s just delivered the mail think if he could see beyond the letterbox?

Eight of us are here to be photographed for Top Sante, the health and beauty magazine I’ve been editing for the past two years — and all of us, from brave readers to members of my team — are getting our kit off for what we’re aptly calling The Naked Issue.

This was a particular theme I was keen to pursue and was lucky enough to realise in this, my last edition as editor. My job has meant I’ve seen at first hand, and become increasingly concerned by, how few of us are happy in our skin these days, and I wanted to do something that would help to get things a bit more in perspective.

For while today’s modern woman may be intelligent and rational with a generally balanced approach to life, when it comes to the way we look, a recent survey revealed that, shockingly, only 13 per cent of us are content with what Nature has given us.

It doesn’t help, of course, that we’re bombarded on a daily basis with images of ‘perfect’ women.

We may well be aware of the airbrushing and the flattering lighting — not to mention the botox, the ridiculous size zero diets, and the high-maintenance regimes these people put themselves through — but this perpetual stream of idealised beauty has undoubtedly distorted a woman’s view of what she ‘should’ look like.

That applies to every age, too, from the pre-pubescent schoolgirl who aspires to look like Cheryl Cole, to the mature woman who still thinks ruefully of Helen Mirren in that bikini.

TAKE my friend Jenny, who’s 48. She’s a lawyer with an IQ that would put Carol Vorderman to shame and has a lovely, curvy figure that at one time would have been called statuesque. yet she hasn’t had a beach holiday for years because she can’t bear the thought of revealing her body, which she thinks is enormous, clad only in a swimsuit.

Then there’s linda, aged 35, who tells her story in the magazine: she hasn’t let her husband see her naked for three years because she views her body as ‘repulsive’, even though it is anything but.

I don’t think this obsession with what we look like, and our unrealistic comparison with celebrity looks, is entirely new, but I suspect in the past there was either a better sense of proportion, or it was just accepted by the majority that these beautiful people — the film stars of the day, for example — were different, occupying a remote world that ‘ordinary people’ would only ever access via the cinema or a movie magazine.

The other day, for instance, in a bookshop, I came across an old seaside annual, which dated back to 1949 and featured an end-of-pier beauty pageant.

I couldn’t help but be struck by how homely and unpolished all the contestants looked: chunky thighs, crooked teeth — some even peered out from behind thick, round glasses — but all these young women were laughing, arms linked, clearly thrilled to be part of the contest.

‘Come on Jean,’ you can imagine one of them saying. ‘Let’s go in for that — it’ll be such a giggle!’

What a difference to today’s painfully self-conscious attitude — it’s no coincidence that sales of sarongs and kaftans have never been higher

Now, with time, it seems to you that many people are owning newer and newer cars and you have gone out of the loop. You ask yourself, ?Is it time to change cars??

There are plenty of things to consider though before you let go of your vehicle and find yourself a new one. After all, it has been years that your vehicle has served its purpose and has been there for you to various locations. Check first and look at your car?s maintenance records. You can see if your vehicle has had plenty of problems or not and if your mechanic seems to suggest that there is no need for any kind of major work in the future, then maybe you may still want to hang on to your vehicle for the time being.

Not all agents are setup to handle out-of-town clients. If a particular agent is unable to assist you, it is likely that they would provide you with the contact information of other individuals that may be able to offer assistance. When speaking to a buyer real estate agent it is important to determine how they obtain their fees and what services they offer.

Similar to all other real estate agents, a buyer real estate agent will obtain their fees in different ways. This is important when finding a buyer real estate agent. Los Angeles has a large number of agents; therefore, it is important to find one that offers low fees. Most will receive a commission percentage from the purchase of your home, but it is still important to check first.

It is also important to determine the features or services provided by each buyer real estate agent. Los Angeles, as previously mentioned, has a large number of agents. If you are interested in getting the best value for your money, you are encouraged to the compare services offered, as well as the fees they are being offered for. Popular services include video conferencing, video home tours, and much more.

If you are interested in using a buyer agent, you have a number of ways to find the perfect buyer real estate agent.

‘Help find photos from our big day’

0 Comments | Grimsby Telegraph, Sep 2, 2010 | by Selina Maycock

TWO newlyweds are calling for help to find six missing memory cards containing more than 1,000 treasured snaps of their big day.

Lucy and Graeme Boynton were married on Sunday at the idyllic Reeds Hotel, Barton-Upon-Humber, in front of 50 guests – some of whom had travelled as far as Australia and America.

After the speeches and, despite frantic searches, the photographer told the groom he had misplaced the pouch containing six memory cards, holding about 1,000 images.

Graeme, 27, of Hull, said: “I cannot say what my reaction was, but my heart dropped massively.

“As soon as I found out we got 15 of us together to retrace out steps.”

After the service, at about 1.15pm, the happy couple were whisked in their Daimler limousine to have some photographs taken at the Humber Bridge viewing point at Barton.

But, after battling with blustery off-shore winds, they moved on to a secluded and freshly cut cornfield opposite the crossroads of Far Ings Lane to complete the photoshoot, before returning to the wedding venue for their meal at about 2.30pm.

Graeme, his friends and the photographer combed the cornfield to find the pouch.

He said: “We searched in a line like a police forensic team and we even went back the following morning, searching in the ditches and everything.

“It can’t have blown away because it’s heavy.

“We hope somebody visiting one of the local attractions, dog walking or just passing by might have picked it up and not realised what it was.

“It’s of no value to anybody else, but it’s of sentimental value to us.

“We had family and friends from all over the world there.

“A lot of planning went into it over the past two years and we don’t get together all that often.

“My wife was absolutely devastated.

“We also feel bad for the photographer because we’re not just a client, we’re his friends. Obviously, it was an accident.”

Lucy, 23, of Willoughby, Hull, said: “I feel bad about the photos, but it’s not the end of the world.

“We had family and friends who had taken photographs and most of the group shots were retaken.

“We would like to hear from anybody who might have seen it or found it.”

The couple are to honeymoon in the Dominican Republic.

In your words The photographer and friend of the couple, Andy Crozier We went to the viewing area at Barton. We moved on to a little lane on the left after the waste recycling centre, which led to a cornfield and I took some more photos, where it was more sheltered. We were at that spot at about 2pm.

When I realised the pouch was missing, at 3.15pm, I went back to the field three times to retrace my steps.

I’m heartbroken. I have been on my hands and knees since Sunday. I got in touch with the driver of the car and had them pull the car apart twice and I even went over to the garage and did the same myself at 11pm that evening.

At 7am the following morning, I was out there with a broom handle in the ditch for an hour.

It’s a total mystery as to where they are.
